HI,

I am just starting to plan a holiday in Scotland. I've only ever been once when I was 8 years old, so would like to know where is nice to go and where do the midges live so I can avoid them. Also, which roads and hills to avoid with my ageing camper.

Thanks

Jayne Very Happy

to misquote somebody or other who was royal

'bu$$er scotland - go to New Zealand Razz Razz Razz Razz Razz Razz

hi folks - I'm back - unfortunately

but - re midges

we now tend to spend most time on the East Coast - Berwickshire, Kingdom of Fife n Aberdeenshire n then west to the Black Isle - C&CC used to have a lovely site on the coast - Rosemarkie I think

less midgies - not so many scary hills easy access to Edinburgh, Perth, Stirling.
we used to use Aberdeenshires municipal sites peaceful and cheap - although there have been some bad reports about our all time favourite of Stonehaven

the East coast is lovely - imo - and often quieter - when are you thinking of going - 'cos that affects the midge quotient - and how long have you got??

you can also 'do' Loch Lomond and Argyllshire - with easy access to Glasgow, and Arran, and an impressive electric generator in a 'ill - see http://www.visitcruachan.co.uk/

xx

Cool
